Rio Grande Credit Union Spreading Holiday Cheer for UNMCH Kids in 2020!

Children’s Miracle Network at UNM Children’s Hospital is thrilled to share that Rio Grande Credit Union is supporting our annual toy drive!  RGCU is now collecting monetary donations from members at their drive-thru’s for a UNMH toy fund.  The fund will be used in mid-December to safely purchase and distribute toys for all patients of UNM Children’s Hospital and off-site clinics this holiday season.  We are so grateful to RGCU’s staff and customers for helping us spread holiday cheer in a safe, COVID-conscious way.

UNM Children’s Hospital serves over 66,000 kids and their families every year.  As a patient and family-centered hospital, UNMCH provides support services to help families through their child’s health journey.  Child Life is the largest service, ensuring each family member, from patients to their siblings to parents and grandparents, receives art and music therapy, massage therapy, fun activities, access to toys and games, and even visits from therapy dogs.  You can learn more about Child Life’s amazing work here:

Children’s Miracle Network’s UNMCH team works closely with Child Life to determine the toy needs of patients each year at the holidays.  RGCU’s toy collection will help ensure that all patients (and their siblings), from infants to teens, receive age-appropriate toys and holiday cheer!

We would like to also thank the entire Rio Grande Credit Union family for supporting UNM Children’s Hospital in a variety of ways, from sponsoring donation matches during our annual Radiothon to helping to establish UNMCH’s first in-hospital classroom, the Mimbres School Connected Academy, staffed by a full-time teacher who is fully funded by the New Mexico Credit Union Association Foundation.
