Costco raises $153,000 for kids in New Mexico!

In May 2019, New Mexico’s 3 Costco Warehouses worked together to raise over $153,000 for the UNM Children’s Hospital!  Customers, associates and managers worked together to make miracles, increasing fundraising by 21% in just one year!

Then, on August 8th, Warehouse leadership joined all associates who raised over $2,000 each for an appreciation breakfast atop Pete’s Playground.  After enjoying a New Mexican breakfast with eggs, bacon, green chile and tortillas, managers and associates listened to Maribeth Thornton, Executive Director of Children’s Services for UNM Hospitals, give them a wonderful thank you speech on behalf of the hospital.  Costco employees then accepted individual and warehouse awards from UNM Children’s Hospital before heading down to Manager’s Coffee, where they presented their check for $153,000 to Hospital CEO Kate Becker, met with standing applause from a room packed with hospital management. Afterwards, Hospital COO Mike Chicarelli treated the group to a full tour and visit to the helicopter pad.

Costco has been a top-5 partner for Children’s Miracle Network at the UNM Children’s Hospital for many years and continues to grow its partnership.  We are incredibly grateful for their significant contribution this year and look forward to making many miracles with their funds for years to come!
