Dion’s Make Miracles during 100.3 the PEAK Radiothon!

Listeners of the 100.3 the PEAK Radiothon realized that there was something new and different this year, a presenting sponsor! The 2019 100.3 the PEAK Radiothon was presented by the New Mexico fan-favorite restaurant, Dion’s. After learning more about the 100.3 the Peak Radiothon, the UNM Children’s Hospital, and the 66,000 patients who are positively impacted from Radiothon donations, Dion’s knew that they wanted to get involved.

The Dion’s presenting sponsorship was critical in the success of the 2019 100.3 the Peak Radiothon! With the help of Dion’s, Radiothon raised over $218,000 for UNM Children’s Hospital, which was an 11% increase from the year prior. These funds will be used for patient services like the Child Life Playroom. Child Life is a place where Liam, an oncology patient at UNM Children’s Hospital,  feels comfortable running, jumping and playing with his favorite toys (and dinosaurs).

Liam’s father, a manager of Dion’s, knows firsthand the importance of donations and the services that they provide. Liam’s parents said, “He is resilient, he is energetic. The hospital bed didn’t contain him. He is just so strong and happy. Cancer is never going to beat us. It is never going to beat Liam….Every single person that we have interacted with at UNM Children’s Hospital has been so supportive.
